Recipe

Whole Wheat Brownies

Makes about 9 brownies

Ingredients:

·         1/2 cup of whole wheat flour

·         2/3 cup of packed brown sugar

·         1 egg

·         1/2 cup of oil

·         1/4 cup of milk

·         1/2 cup of cocoa powder

·         2 cups of whole wheat flour

·         1 teaspoon of baking soda

·         1/4 teaspoon of salt

Directions:

1.      In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

2.      Add the oil, brown sugar, egg, cocoa powder, and milk. Mix until smooth.

3.      Once everything is mixed, chill the batter in the fridge for at least 1 hour, covered.

4.      After the batter chilled for at least one hour, then preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

5.      Pour the batter into a greased baking dish. I like to use a 9” baking pan.

6.      Bake brownies in the oven for 40-50 minutes.

7.      Then remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool for about 30 minutes.

8.      After the brownies have cooled, you can cut them into pieces and take them out of the pan.

These whole wheat brownies are rich, chocolatey, and proof that wholesome baking can still taste incredibly indulgent. They’re simple to make, perfect for sharing, and guaranteed to satisfy any chocolate craving. If you try them, I’d love to hear how they turned out and whether your family loved them too!
